In Twilight Harmony, a silhouetted tree stands in quiet contrast to a sky alive with sweeping layers of gold, orange and red. Expressive marks capture the movement of changing light, while the grounded form of the tree brings a sense of stillness and presence.
The painting explores a recurring tension in my experience of landscape: energy and calm existing at the same time. The sky is vibrant and constantly shifting, yet beneath it there is a sense of quiet. Inspired by the colours and atmosphere of Africa, and informed by my own experience of South Australian light, the work seeks to capture that moment when the landscape feels both intensely alive and completely still.
